Country to the City

I’m just a country gal in a big city :)

Target and Grown-Up Dinners February 27, 2006

So we found a dress we liked. Not the one that I originally had my eye one, but one i found at Target. It’s white and lilac and it is so pretty :D Abby is lucky having her birthday around Easter, I get to choose from all the pretty Easter dresses for a cute party dress :D I also bought her a cute hat to go with it, and I’ll also use the hat for the summer too. With her being blonde and blue-eyed, I know she’ll need it and lots of sunscreen, LOL.

We had Brandie and Kalyn over for dinner. It was very nice and civilized. We sat around the dining table, got the candles out and had nice adult conversation. Made a nice chance from talking about babies all the time, haha. Nick cooked pork medallions with an onion, garlic and tomate sauce and I made homemade lemon merangue pie. I was very pleased with myself :D

Since it worked last time, (I got two new members to join!) here’s the link to Ace Young Fans:

Birthdays, Printers and Ace Young :) February 25, 2006

And now we start with the major rundown. It's getting closer and closer to birthday party time, and I'm getting really excited. I can't believe it's been almost a year since I became a mum. It's insane! Time truly flies by so fast! I'm going out with Nick's mom tomorrow to pick out a party dress for Abby. I've seen one at Walmart in yellow and it's gorgeous. The only problem is that at the Walmart near here, they havn't got the size I need (18 months). So we're going to go and find another Walmart tomorrow and find the dress in the size I need. I have my fingers crossed that we can find it!

The party theme is Care Bears :D Pink and yellow with gingham and #1's. Hehe. It's going to be the birthday I wanted as a kid but never got. That's one of the best things about kids, you can give them everything that you never had as a kid. Eeeee :D

We had to go out and but a new printer recently. Our old Epson decided to give up the ghost, so I trudged out in the freezing cold to Walmart to get a new printer. I found a really decent HP all-in-one for about $70. I thought that was a really decent price :D I scanned a bunch of photos in and they're on my Flickr site, if you care to look :D

One last thing, AI. OMG, how hot is Ace?! He makes me drool everytime I see him. Okay, I drooled at Con too, but this is different. He doesn't do annoying things like Constantine did. Pure hotness- plus a great, great singer to boot, way better than Constantine ever was. Are you a fan? Please join my friend's Ace forum- Ace Young Fans. And tell them that ProudBrit referred you. It really is a great forum, and there's lots of hot photos on there of him :D

And lets finish off this post with a pic of the hotness:

If you aren’t into the whole Flickr thing, this is my new favourite photo of Miss Abby. Haha. How cute is this?!

I’m currently waiting for Nick to get back from running errands so I can get off to work and go to Qdoba for dinner- I’ve fallen in love with their chicken nachos…mmmm :D

Abby has got really talkative recently. She’s started saying things like “no”, “up”, “yup” and she accidently said a mild swear word…so now we’re having to watch our language around her :p

I really don’t have a lot to say at the moment. I’ll think about what to type up while I’m at work and after a beer or two, haha. Hey, every working mother needs some alcohol to relieve the stress :p And I don’t care what you preachy alcohol-free people out there say. It is not evil, it is not a drug and it is not addictive if you do it in moderation ;)

My brother on the other hand…well, I’ll save that for later.

Abby’s napping, so I’ve got the chance to type something up before she wakes.

I was reading a book yesterday d it said how when kids are napping, you ought to do something for yourself. Hmmm, so what have I done? Dishes, laundry, putting away stuff. It is for me though. It drives me CRAZY if I don’t get it done. Nick likes to pile the dishes on the top of the fridge, and it just bugs me when I cannot find any plates for dinner…ha.

I learn’t last night at work that I only have another four weeks left at work. No, I’m not getting fired, I work at a bowling alley and I waitress for the leagues- and they all end in four weeks. And I doubt that I’m going to get re-hired for the fall. I’m 99.9% sure. I’m the best waitress they have ever had (I’m not just saying that, I have had the bowlers tell me this), but I’m not what management are looking for. Fucking bastard wants a big-titted, blonde, porn star with very little clothing waitressing. Yeah, like he’s gonna find someone like that who’ll work for $6 an hour..ha. Good luck with that smart ass.

I hate tax season. Every year we have problems, because of some small screw-up. Last year it was because I didn’t have a social security number yet, this year it’s because we need to file some kind of Homestead form which the landlord has to sign. Gah…stupid IRS :(

Just a quick entry with some photos of me playing my new guitar (yes, I bought the guitar). I’m really not that good at the moment, I know six notes, so don’t ask me to play anything ;) I’ve been looking into lessons this evening, to give myself a head start :D

Just before I go and take a shower I think I’ll do a quick recap of what I’ve been upto recently ;)

Abby seems to be getting fussier and fussier recently. It’s like she started her ‘terrible twos’ a year early! She constantly demands to be picked up and held- even when I’m busy like trying to cook dinner or something. She hates being in her highchairr, she makes straining, grunting noises like she’s pooping or something. Haha. And she has no interest in sitting still. If I’m half way across the house and she’s sitting quietly, playing with a toy- she’ll decide that she doesn’t want to play anymore and comes to find me. And when she finds me, she grabs onto my pant/jean legs and hangs off them until I pick her up. And if I walk away, all hell breaks loose.

I think I’ve taken Tylenol twice today because she’s screamed so much :(

I’m also considering on buying a guitar, so we’ll see how that goes. I maybe picking it up tomorrow if I like the look of it. If not, the cash will be going towards an external hard drive for this piece of shit computer, :p

I’ve decided that I’m going to take a break from the internet for a while. I’ll still be blogging, but just not as often. I’ll keep you all updated. I’m just dealing with some personal demons at the moment and I just need a break from all this.

Thanks for listening ;)

Gah. I am so frickin cold. I’ve discovered that when I am tired, I get cold. Surely you’d think I would go to bed, but I’m still stuck here in front of the computer…it’s like a drug I tell you :p

I went and had my hair cut today. Nothing major, just a tidy up and a trim…but I sure looked better by the time I got to work. At least my hair didn’t look like something greasy had crawled up onto my head and died, haha.

There was leftover Chinese in the fridge today (pork fried rice, sesame chicken, beef teriaki) and I ate everything but the beef when I came home from work this evening. Nick is probably going to kill me for eating his leftover pork fried rice, but I was just so exhausted when I finally got up the stairs to the apartment..I just wanted to eat, putz around on the computer for a while and then head off to bed. I got into watching Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy party on Rhapsody.com and it was about 2am when that finished. And now, it’s 3.30am and I guess I should be heading off to bed. I have this HUGE stack of reading material by the bed (magazines, books, leaflets, ads from the Sunday newspaper) and I really need to purge the pile and throw away what I’ve already read and don’t want to keep. I am such a pack rat :p
