Me, Nick, Jess and Nick’s Grandpa went to the ball game today. We all got there at about 12pm, and we tailgated for a bit. Grandpa had bought hot ham and rolls, Pringles, soda, beer and apple turnovers. It was yummy. I love sparts games for this reason in the this state. EVERYONE tailgates. It’s so much fun to watch everyone sitting out with their grills and fold-away picnic seats, drinking beer and grilling brats. At about 12.45pm we went into the stadium to find our seats.

We (the Milwaukee Brewers) were playing the Minnesota Twins (booo!)It was fun, there was even the Sausage Race (which is four people dressed up in sausage costumes and they run down a track to see who wins. It’s hilarious! There’s a hotdog, a Polish Sausage, a Bratwurst and an Italian Sausage. The game was good, apart from the fact that we were sucking BADLY…until the 9th inning and then we got a home run (they called it a Moon Shot because the lady in the moon from the Miller High Life bottle came up on the screen, haha) and a few runs too. We could have drawn with them, only we managed to go back to sucking and our last three batters got struck out in a row. Damn. They won the game, but we won the series because we won the first two games! Woooo! :p

Nick also bought me a new baseball cap (it’s the old style one that’s bright yellow and royal blue-instead of navy and gold). Beer wasn’t that expensive either- about $3.50. That’s more than what the consessions guys were asking for the plastic bottled beer, that was $4.50. A dollar for a plastic bottle? It’s the same stuff inside, get the stuff in the plastic cup instead ;)

When we got back to the van, Jess noticed that the sun had caught me a bit. I thought that it had only caught my shoulders, but I just looked in the bathroom mirror and it caught my front and my back too! Yikes! Best find some after-sun quick, methinks ;)

So, so hot here :(

I hate it when it’s this hot. The weather makes me grumpy as all heck :(

I have to do laundry more often, because of all the sweaty bedsheets and clothes. It’s making Abby grumpy too, because sometimes after she’s been fed and changed and we try everything, she still cries.

And Mercia is pretending to be dead. She stretches herself out across the lino of the kitchen floor. I have to be careful that I don’t fall over her! I open the fridge when I get a drink out and she comes and stands in front of it with me. I think she likes that. I feel sorry for her with her furry coat. It has to be like wearing a fur coat! Bleaugh!

I’ve decided I only like the heat if there’s a cold fan blowing on me (like now!) or a cold pool to jump into. I wish I had a pool. Even a paddling pool would be good. I could sit outside in it (haha!)

I went out yesterday in the heat and bought Bo’s and Carrie’s new singles. I ran from place to place to get back into the AC. I love malls in this weather! :D

Been doing waaay too much recently.

Jess had her graduation bbq today. Was fun, but Abby was crabby all day because she didn’t like the sun in her eyes.

And tomorrow is Father’s Day. And we’re having another bbq HERE. Oh god, this place is a mess and I need to clean :(

So, so tired. I could really do with skipping tomorrow ;)

I’m so tired…and I really have no idea why :(

On Sunday, it was Locust Street Festival. Since it was only half a block away from our house, me, Nick and Abby all went down to see what it was all about. We took her out in the stroller, and really regretted taking it about 5 minutes later. It was CROWDED. Really. I felt like hitting some people, because they have no respect for the fact that I was pushing a stroller. I got really mad, and was pretty relieved when we found an uncrowded space :) So, once we’d made it through the fest, we decided to head back. On the way back, we decided to put some money into the community by buying beer (MGD and Lakefront Cattail) and chicken tacos. I looked out for [info]faeriegrrrl23, as she lives in that area, but I never saw her :( When we got back up to our street, my favourite local band, The Probers were playing. I always watch their shows if they’re near by, as both me and Nick are friends with the front man, Rob. Rob was on stage with his guitar, doing a solo acoustic performance (which is very strange- as The Probers are A BAND). We wathed him for a bit, and then I went home with Nick as he had to be at work at 6pm :(
So, Nick goes off to work, and I’m sitting around the house with Abby, being bored. I head out onto the balcony, and still hear Rob singing. So I grab the baby front-pack off the back of the nursery door, bundle Abby into it, put my shoes on and we walk down to see The Probers playing. By the time we had got down there, the whole band had showed up. They played a bunch of my favourite songs, including one that I’m going to give you as a gift from me. (Hey, I’m being a promoter for the band. And then if they come near to your state, you can tell Rob that I told you about them ;) I talk to Rob after the show, and he asks about Abby, who at this point is napping :D After, it seems as though my sholders are starting to ache, so we head back home with Noah (who is my downstairs neighbour, he was at the fest too)
I get Abby ready for bed, and she falls asleep almost immediately. I settle down with a chocolate martini (no I don’t know how to make them, my good bartender friend Sarah makes me up a huge bottle ready-mixed), and proceed to watch tv. There’s nothing on, so for the next four hours, I import a bunch of songs from my CD collection to iTunes, and clean the kitchen, vacuum the rugs, make up Abby’s bottles, clean the cat’s litter box and tidy the living room. Afterwards, I fall into bed and fall straight asleep…zzzzz ;)

And after that, I really didn’t do a lot yesterday. Imported some more songs to iTunes, and took a walk round the neighbourhood with Abby in the front-pack carrier again.

And it rained today! Hurrah! :D (I know, I’m strange. Tell me news, not history)

Before I forget, here’s the song I promised you: The Probers- Who’s Your Daddy?!

I really havn’t done a lot today at all. Nick’s dad bought Abby back, and she was slightly sunburnt on her cheek. I wasn’t going to kick up a fuss about that. They also bought round a bunch of window fans for us, so it’s now a lot cooler in here :) I was expecting them to go straight away, but they hung around like dead flies instead. And that pissed me off, because the apartment was a mess again, and I had a stack of dishes to wash. I mean, what are you supposed to do when you’ve got company and you REALLY want to clean? Vacuum round them? “Excuse me please, can you just lift your legs up for me so I can vacuum” Yeah right. I’d get shot down by Nick for doing that. And I’m also pissed at them because Abby now has diarrhea. Which means that they didn’t mix her bottles up properly. I give my only kid to them to look after for two days, and they fuck it up royally! Jeez….

I wish it would rain here. I love it when it rains in the summer. That hissing noise it makes when it hit the ground…lovely ;) That’s the reason for my icon, I guess ;)

And recently, I put up my British white ensign flag on the balcony…and now the neighbours are telling me that it has to come down on July 4th! I know he was kidding, but I aint taking my flag down. No way. Not on your nellie :) If anyone isn’t too sure what the flag looks like, then this is it:

I like it because it combines the England flag and the Union Jack :)

I’ve just remembered a story that Nick’s mom told me about Nick’s dad taking Nick and Jess out to Devil’s Lake and not putting suntan lotion on them. Nick’s dad and evil-stepmom have Abby at the moment. They’ve had her since yesterday evening, and they’re bringing her back tomorrow afternoon. I remember them talking about using the paddling pool and sitting in there with her. I just hope for God’s sake that they put suntan lotion on her…gah! If she comes back sunburnt AT ALL, I will never let them babysit again. I’m being serious. I will not be accused of wilful neglect.

So, last night didn’t go as well as I expected, but it was good nonetheless. Nick hadn’t got a clue what was going to happen to him, Stacy and Phil showed up, Buddy had to work last minute and Lexi had broken up with Rich and wanted to stay at home. (I told her the best thing was to come out with us and have some fun, but she wasn’t having any of it) Oh and Terri was still sick, so neither her nor Stephen could make it either :( Get well soon hun! *hugs* Nick got his ‘Hail To The Chief’ and was given a drink and made to watch the most hilarious video! (Lots of half-naked girls pretending to be various branches of the government). His drink was a Long-Island Iced Tea, but it was more like a Strong-Island Iced Tea. The thing was about triple the strength of a regular one! Yikes! ;)

As expected, the two of us got pretty wasted, I was up about three times looking for something to drink, I had such severe dehydration. But today, I feel pretty good. I havn’t had to take any Tylenol for a headache, so it must be all that water I drank in the night ;)

And now, it is again way too hot here. I’ve started putting the temp in under my mood/music entry.

Oh and good news! A friend of mine bought me a paid account for a couple of months until I can afford to get the $25 together! Woooo! :D
